Clear Plexiglas Top
The top is made of 3/8” clear acrylic. The playing surface is very smooth. We have found that this ultra smooth top can feel almost sticky during game play with some types of bag fabric when it is too clean. We recommend the use of real corn bags to provide the necessary lubrication for correct game play. In lieu of real corn bags some simple cornstarch from the kitchen can be sprinkled on the board before play begins.
Wood Frame
The wood frame is made of ¾” cabinet grade solid poplar. This wood is primed and finished with several coats of industrial enamel. The rear frame is reinforced with an additional piece of ¾” poplar to support the legs during game play.
Electronics
Lights
Epoxy encased bright modular LED strings are used for the lighting. Each module encases three LEDs. All of these LEDs are rated for a minimum of 50,000 hours. That would be continuous for almost six years. These LEDs were chosen specifically for their output and durability.
AC Power Adapter
Each set comes with an AC power adapter for each board. These will work with any standard two-prong outlet.
Battery Pack
There are two 4 cell battery packs on each board. Each of these holds 4 standard C-cell batteries. From our testing, 8 new Duracell batteries will light the board for over 100 continuous hours.
Switch
A full size toggle switch is used to direct power to the lights. One side of the switch turns the AC power on, the opposite side turns the battery power on. The middle is the off position. This prevents the AC power from ever conflicting with the battery power.
Legs
The legs are made out of 1/2" schedule 40 aluminum pipe. The true outside diameter of this pipe is just over 3/4". This is a very strong pipe that is bent in a metal fabrication shop on a hydraulic bender with a specific die for the tight radius bend.
Custom Logos for specialty boards
We also have the ability to create custom logos for any board. We have a vinyl decal company that will create a special vinyl decal for any image they are provided. These decals are made for use in exterior signs. The decal is placed on the underside of the board and is painted over with the translucent white sign paint. The decal is translucent and will light up with the board. The decal is also on the underside of the
board so it will never be scratched or be worn down during game play. These decals can be made any size with any image you provide us. This is a photo of a board where we used our company logo. Because the cost is dependant on the size and complexity of the image you will need to e-mail us your image for us to send you the final cost. An image the size of the one shown costs approximately $40 per set. These are great for Bars, Restaurants, Fraternities and any other organization that would like to promote themselves with these eye catching boards.
